What I know

So for now I'm just killing time.  Slendy is still holed up in the U S of A (that is where he seems most popular).  So I have decided to post up everything I know as a record.  If it somehow helps someone then yay.

Background- History
Many of the early tales of the Slenderman come from Germany. Der Grobmann, as he is called over there, seems to hunt in the trees and kidnap children. That pretty much scans with what urban legend says.  There is a story about a pair of twin girls.  Slenderman possessed their mother and told her to make her kids kill themselves.  They didn't. I don't really know the rest but it ended badly.  Another piece of 'evidence' is a picture of a multi armed skeleton guy in armour killing some bloke.  A lot of people think this is slendy.  I call bullshit.  The figure in the picture has a face, and Slendy is not a skeleton.  People have depicted multi armed monsters in pictures for ever.  This is not Slenderman.

Background- Modern Day
With all this in mind, what the hell does he have against America?
Well, a while back there was a competition on the Something Awful forum to create a terrifying photo.  The winner, Victor Surge, posted a photo of Slendy behind some kids.  Somehow this got popular and spread.  People didn't realise that this was no joke, and that by huping up this fresh new urban legend they had practically killed themselves.  And then Marble Hornets showed up.  A guy named Alex (a common name among Slender targets) was working on a film project and Slenderman wanted a piece of the action.  Alex gave the tapes from his project to his friend Jay... And things jusy got screwed up.  This practically shaped our modern view of Slenderman, even if people don't realise it.
Of course, there is also that game, Slender: the 8 Pages.  Round my part of the world (ol' Somerset) this game is basically what Slenderman is; most people have never heard of MH or the Something Awful forum.  Anyway,  most of this stuff is American, so that is where mr Slim hangs out.

Powers
Slenderman is not just a tall bloke with no face and a good dress sense; he has some wicked powers on him.

Teleportation: Commonly referred to as Slenderwalking,  this is one thing everyone agrees on.  Slendy has the ability to pop up wherever he wants.  Scarily, he can also teleport other people, a favourite pasttime of his.
Tentacles: Jeez, why is he not attacking Japan? They'd love him.  Another of his abilities is the manifestation of black tentacles.  Presumably these are used to strangle his prey once he's done with them.
Time Manipulation: Very hard to describe.  Slenderman seems to be able to fling people into the future.  One may see him and suddenly you will wake up several days into the future.  The full extent of this is unknown.
Mind Control: Slendy can't do everything by himself.  He is able to take over the minds of people, turning them into 'proxies'.  This allows him to trap his prey, or just wreck their mind by turning a loved on against them.  The largest group of proxies known is the Collective, a shadowy group of fiends with a special interest in Noah Maxwell of TribeTwelve.
Others:  He can also induce insomnia, severe sickness, paranoia and insanity.

The Operator Symbol
It looks like a circle with a cross through it.  It appears in locations associated with Slenderman.  Some say it summons Slenderman, others say it is a ward against him.  If you see this symbol, he is probably nearby.

Well, that concludes that, I suppose.  I may find more info in the future.

This is Alex Hampton.  Peace out.
